We look forward to hosting you!
No Tasting!
Hosting a special evening with friends this evening shopside (but still open to the public!), so we are skipping a tasting this week. Join us on the 26th!
Winery Focus: Vigna Lenuzza
It is the last Thursday of the month, so a winery focus it is! Tonight we will taste through four wines from a brand new Italian producer to the Milwaukee market: Vigna Lenuzza.
Set in the northern region of Colli-Orientali, Fruili, Vigna Lenuzza is a certified organic winery with a third generation winemaker at the helm; Daniel Lenuzza, and his wife Tanika. On their 8ha farm you’ll find indigenous grapes like Friulano, Ribiola Giala, & Schioppettino di Prepotto, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc.
Come taste through four of their offerings here at Thelma Carol Wine. Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and the DOCG protected, unique Schioppettino di Prepotto.
$17/person. No reservations needed.
Mini Spring Pause
Thelma Carol Wine will be on a mini spring pause Friday March 27th & March 28th. Back open March 30th!
Riesling for Haters
“Eeeeewww, too sweet, I hate Riesling!”
Solving crimes against wine one tasting at a time, we continue the “For Haters” series with one of the world’s most misunderstood and misrepresented wines: Riesling. For many, whose limited experience may have stopped with Liebfraumilch in the dreaded blue bottle, chosing Riesling over almost anything else constitutes a breach of the “I’m a serious wine drinker” contract.
Well, folks, let’s fix this. Tonight we dive into the world of serious Riesling for serious wine people. We’ll focus on fresh, crisp, dry versions from some of the world’s most renowned production sites, explore the grape’s ability to age, and examine how acid and sugars play with one another to form a complex organoleptic experience.
List to come…
Milwaukee Wine Week Happy Hour
Tonight we host the opening festivities for Milwaukee Wine Week, sponsored by Milwaukee Wine Academy.
